If you’re a functional programming junkie, you have probably heard about the Lambda Luminaries!
They are a group of Functional Programming enthusiasts in Gauteng, and PMT is proud to sponsor food and drinks at their meetings once a month (every second Monday of the month); where they discuss functional programming concepts and languages e.g. Haskell, Erlang, Clojure etc.
PMT uses Erlang, a true visionary language in this arena to build our bespoke financial transaction systems.
The Lambda Luminaries’ goals are:
- help foster and grow a healthy FP community.
- build skills by learning from each other.
- have some interesting conversations with like-minded people.
- keep the fun in functional programming.
You don’t have to be an expert to join them, you just need to be interested in what you read here:

If you would like some more info on what they do, and where they meet up, check them out at: http://www.meetup.com/lambda-luminaries/
