Loading pre-paid airtime through 8-ta’s IN connection on a user’s cellphone has never been easier.
One of PMT’s unsung products is the innovative “Emerald File-Drop”, IN-recharge system, which is actively used by South Africa’s youngest MNO, 8-ta.
File-Drop supports both airtime transactions and credit transfer transactions. The processing cycle starts when a customer uploads an FIS file to Emerald via a supported file transfer mechanism. Once the file imports successfully, Emerald will process the transactions one at a time until the entire file has been processed, and at the end of the processing cycle, Emerald generates an output file that contains the status of each of the transactions in the original file.
The file is used to transfer credit from the associated Emerald Account to any existing Account or MSISDN. The file can be “dropped” via FTP or SFTP into Emerald, or via Electronic API which requires minor developer integration.
